Amazon's Kindle Fire

Are you thinking of watching a movie on weekend or catching up with your favorite TV show? If yes, then Kindle Fire is the right choice. This Amazon tablet is very appealing as goes for its HD screen giving a tough competition to the Apple’s iPad.

Buying HD over a regular one would be a wise decision although it costs $40 more than the usual model. The HD models unveiled this Thursday start at $199 for the small screen Fire models. The Kindle Fire with bigger screen is all set to make a mark in the market sometime in November.

Along the sidelines of the launch of Kindle Fire Amazon has also up graded the regular model which is now much faster than the original which came out last November.

The Kindle Fire is now in close competition with Apple’s iPad with Fire’s larger models having 8.9 inch screen with a high resolution likewise in Apple iPad.

The smaller Kindle Fire has a screen resolution of 1280/800 pixel whereas an Apple iPad has a resolution of 2048/1536. But then you have sharp picture in $199 as compared to $499 for the latest iPad which makes Kindle Fire a must buy.

Amazon has also made changes in design in its HD models. Now the speakers are on both the sides and if it is in a landscape mode like a movie screen one can watch movies in Dolby Digital sound.

The new HD model and the old Kindle Fire have a series of new features that are good but moreover the same. As per the X-Ray feature, if you tap on the screen while a movie is going on it will lead to listing of actors featuring in the scene. The X-Ray feature is very popular feature on the Kindle e-reader which has been used in Fire and gives bird’s eye view to the user.

Yet another feature Amazon has offered is the ‘Immersion Reading’ that allows narration from an actor that might be appreciated by the users.

Amazon has also added a feature that controls the time spend by a child on various media. Now one can limit your child as to how much video and games they can access while making them read as much as one likes.

The USP of Kindle Fire by Amazon is the HD screen with sharp image formation which might be of interest to some looking for a reasonable buy.
